This writer started early (and more fun facts)
It all began with the "The Daily Beagle," my first brush with publishing. That 'newspaper,' scribbled on sheets of typing paper, was the pride of my middle school years. I realized then that I wanted to tell the top stories (and, at the time, the best jokes. It was fourth grade, after all.)
Since then I've written. A lot. My 22-year sports journalism career included 15 years at The Cincinnati Enquirer, where I covered sports news, features and enterprise on every beat from Xavier basketball to the Reds and Bengals. I covered Xavier for two years at The Athletic. I also wrote for the Associated Press, ESPN.com and WCPO.com.
I moved to Louisville to become the men's basketball beat writer for the Pulitzer Prize-winning Louisville Courier Journal. My year there was an odyssey due to the pandemic but I'm proud to say my deep dive into the life of grad transfer Carlik Jones won an Associated Press Sports Editors Top 10 award for long feature writing.
I'm now a Senior Copywriter for Total Quality Logistics, the country's second-largest freight brokerage and third-party logistics firm. I write many forms of marketing content - press releases, blogs, social media posts and more - and I compose similar content as a freelancer. I love reaching different audiences and capturing a brand's voice.
